COMPLETE HORSE RIDING STORE
Trident Saddlery’s showroom is truly a one-stop shop for everything related to horse riding and care. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, you’ll find a wide range of items including saddles, bridles, halters, lungeing equipment, riding apparel, imported safety helmets, books, magazines, bits, fly fringes, harnesses, supplements, and cleaning materials. It caters to all riders and horse owners, no matter their level of experience.
TOP-QUALITY SADDLE TREES
The English saddle trees used by Trident are imported directly from England, known for its superior saddle craftsmanship. In contrast, the Western and trail saddle trees are locally produced in South Africa, maintaining a high standard. All buckles are imported due to local unavailability, and even the saddle stuffing used in the premium range is sourced internationally. For their Trident line, no expense is spared in ensuring top-tier materials. The saddle trees are reinforced with a fiberglass bandage for better suspension and balance.
PERFECT FIT AND QUALITY CHECKS
Getting the saddle panels right is one of the most critical parts of saddle-making. Proper padding ensures that the saddle sits level on the horse’s back and distributes the rider’s weight evenly, preventing discomfort or injury. Throughout the manufacturing process, quality and durability checks are constantly carried out. Every finished saddle is thoroughly inspected by one of the company’s top saddlers before it reaches the showroom or is shipped for distribution.
CUSTOM-MADE LEATHER GEAR
Trident Saddlery manufactures a wide variety of leather products in-house. If a customer requires a special piece of tack – from a chambon to a custom-designed saddle – the team is more than happy to create it. Custom requests are handled with great attention to detail, ensuring both functionality and style are met.
SPECIALIZED SADDLES AND STRONG STITCHING
In addition to standard saddles, Trident also produces specialized models, including polo saddles and Australian stock saddles. To ensure safety and durability, all stress points on these items are hand-stitched using lock stitches, which provide superior strength and long-lasting performance.
HORSE BLANKET PRODUCTION
The production of horse blankets is a detailed process that involves laying out materials, cutting, marking, eyeleting, and machining. Both nylon and leather straps are incorporated depending on the type and function of the blanket. The process ensures durability while maintaining comfort for the horse.
LEATHER STRAP PROCESSING
All leather straps are precisely cut using an electronic strap cutter programmed to produce uniform lengths and widths. Once cut, the leather undergoes further processing: the edges are rounded, holes are punched, embossing is added, and the leather is stained. These finishing touches enhance both the look and performance of the product.
GLOBAL TRENDS AND INNOVATION
To stay current with international trends, Trident’s management regularly attends saddlery trade fairs in England and Germany. These visits provide insight into the latest technologies and preferences of top riders around the world. The knowledge gained is used to continuously improve Trident’s products and keep them aligned with global standards.
IMPORTS, EXPORTS & EXPERT SERVICE
Trident Saddlery imports high-quality components from the UK, Germany, and other countries while also exporting its finished products to select international markets and African nations. The showroom is open seven days a week and is staffed by skilled saddlers and knowledgeable experts who help customers choose the right product the first time. From tiny miniature horses to large Percherons, you’ll find exactly what you need at Trident Saddlery.
